Score-release checklist
What to do before and after July 6
This page keeps the post-exam journey useful after the FRQ traffic spike: estimate first, check official scores later, then decide whether college credit or score-send actions matter.
| Need | Official guidance | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Official release date | 2026 AP Exam scores will be available starting Monday, July 6. | Use the score estimator before then, but treat it as unofficial. |
| Before July 6 | Check that you can sign in to the College Board account used for AP. | Duplicate or inaccessible accounts can delay viewing scores. |
| If a score is missing | Some scores can take longer because of later testing, delayed materials, or record matching. | Check email updates and contact AP Services if scores are not received by August 15. |
| FRQ copy request | Students can request a copy of their free responses for a fee when the FRQ content was released. | This does not include comments, corrections, scores, rescoring, or appeal. |
| Multiple-choice rescore | College Board describes an MCQ rescore service for eligible exams, but free responses are not rescored. | Do not expect a FRQ appeal process after scores release. |
| College credit planning | After scores arrive, check each college's AP credit and placement policy. | A 4 and 5 can lead to different credit outcomes depending on the institution. |
